Just Asking asked:
It appears to be made of a dark wood, brown or mahogany. Has a built-in pencil holder on desk’s top area. May originally have had a roll down top (drilled hole on left and right side of the desk’s top area. Matching stool pulls out easily and is sturdy (for sitting on). Estimate it to be made in the mid to late 1800’s. Appears to be professionally constructed.

I have come across a copy of ‘The Roycroft Dictionary’ concocted by Ali Baba and the Bunch on rainy days. It was copyrighted in 1914 by Elbert Hubbard. I was just wondering if it is possible to guess at the value. It is in fairly good condition with all pages still firmly attached. The spine does have some minor damage to either end though. Is this something that can be repaired?

They are candle holders but they are black and I want them to match the room they are in. The colours in the room are beige and burgundy and the furniture are of a dark oak colour, all of wood. I don’t know if those details make any difference because I’ve never decorated any thing, I’m hoping to make this my first project ever.

Circa 1920’s similar to the ones you will find displayed at Ellis Island in New York. The frame is wood and the cover looks like thin animal skin.

I’ve tried removing the film with vinegar and a lime remover, neither had any effect.

I have a very old nativity set from Germany. The figurines are ceramic. Several of them have broken and I don’t have the missing pieces. For instance, the donkey’s ear is missing. The shepard’s nose is missing. One of the wise men is missing a jar that he was holding. This set has been in my family for over 50 years. I would like to repair these figurines, but do not want to damage them any further, how do I go about it/

I could drive but gas will cost about 700.00 to get there and back, or I could fly there (400.00) and rent a Uhaul and bring it back. There’s got to be a cheaper way! Please help!

I was at a farmers market the other day. I spotted an antique wooden barrel about the size of a watermelon. The inside was divided. one side was about 1/4 of the barrel and the other side was 3/4. Was this used as a measuring divice? I tried to look it up but couldn’t find any info. Anyone know what it is called?

I purchased what I believed was a small wooden table for my printer at a garage sale for $5. When I got home, I realized that the top lifted up to become a back rest and the inside was a fully functional toilet with a metal bucket. Is it worth anything?
Thanks
