Janice S asked:
I have and old buffet that was given to me. It dates between the 1950’s and 60’s. Not sure what I should be selling if for. I’m not sure what type of wood the peice is. How can I get it apprasised and sold?

We had a waterfall dresser vintage 1940s-50s.. The value is not too high because of the prevalence of these pieces still available on auction.
Take it to an antique auctioneer put a reserve price on it, see what happens. I don’t think most 40-50s pieces are worth much more then 50-100 depending on condition.

Call an antique dealer in your area. They’ll be glad to come look at it and appraise it. Don’t let them under pay you. Also, look in an antique book at the library. You’ll get a better idea of how much it’s worth. Good luck. Wish I could afford it….
