How can I find out the value of a small antique desk with pull-out stool?
Posted by admin
Just Asking asked:
It appears to be made of a dark wood, brown or mahogany. Has a built-in pencil holder on desk’s top area. May originally have had a roll down top (drilled hole on left and right side of the desk’s top area. Matching stool pulls out easily and is sturdy (for sitting on). Estimate it to be made in the mid to late 1800’s. Appears to be professionally constructed.

Sorry, you haven’t given enough info. How big is the desk? What style is it? Can you supply a picture? I think you should take a photograph of the desk and hit a couple of antique stores in your area, and ask them what they think. Don’t go to a really high end store though. They won’t give you the time of day. You could also look online to see if you can find a desk similar to the one you have. Good luck!

Take a picture of it and take the picture to a antique dealer. Just ask the dealer what it may be worth. Good luck. Auctioneers are also knowledgeable about antiques.
